Overview
Adolescence brings rapid changes in identity, friendships, academic demands, self-image and family expectations. Seeking guidance during teenage years is not a sign that something is “wrong” with a young person — it is often a healthy step towards understanding oneself and handling everyday challenges with greater clarity.
Teen Counselling at Taksh-A-Shila Lighthouse uses clear, age-appropriate language and treats every young person with dignity. Sessions focus on listening without judgement, helping teenagers sort through thoughts and feelings, and building practical ways to navigate school, relationships and personal goals.

What the Guidance Process May Involve
Specific arrangements are discussed individually upon enquiry so that support remains appropriate to the participant’s age, background and goals. Typically, engagement may involve:
- Initial orientation clarifying consent, parental involvement where required for minors, and comfortable session norms.
- Calm, conversational sessions paced to the young person’s comfort — never interrogation or lecturing.
- Practical reflection tools for managing everyday stress, communication and personal routines.
Privacy, Consent & Safeguarding for Young People
We treat teenagers’ privacy with genuine respect so they can speak openly. At the same time, for minors, parental or guardian consent, appropriate family involvement and confidentiality boundaries depend on the young person’s age, applicable Indian law and safeguarding duties where safety is at risk. Taksh-A-Shila does not provide 24-hour crisis, emergency or psychiatric treatment services. Please also read our Counselling Disclaimer.
